Multi-character scenes: AI group chat inside a story
Updated
In Lunelle AI, several characters can take part in the same scene. Each one reacts to you, to the others, and to what just happened, in their own voice.
What group scenes are good for
- Adventuring parties: travel, fight, and argue with a group instead of a single character.
- Rivalries and alliances: put two characters who disagree in the same room and see what happens.
- Mysteries: question several suspects in one scene and catch them contradicting each other.
- Family, court, and workplace drama, where the relationships between characters matter as much as their relationship with you.
How it works
You write your part in your own words, as in any Lunelle AI story. The characters in the scene answer with their own personalities and voices, and they keep track of what happens. Combined with long-term memory, a group story can run over many sessions.
Running a good group scene
Address a character by name when you want them to answer: “Mara, what do you make of this?”
Give each character something they want. A scene comes alive when characters pull in different directions.
Keep the cast small. Two to four characters in a scene are easier to follow than a crowd.
When someone new arrives, describe them in a line so it’s clear who they are and why they’re there.
Use narration to move the scene along. “Later that night, at the inn…” changes the setting and makes it clear who is present.
